International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict is observed globally on 19th June every year.

  • The day honors all the victims and survivors of sexual violence around the world and pays tribute to the brave hearts who have devoted and lost their lives in raising voices.
  • According to UN, conflict-related sexual violence is defined as a term that “refers to rape, sexual slavery, forced prostitution, forced pregnancy, forced abortion, enforced sterilization, forced marriage, and any other form of sexual violence of comparable gravity perpetrated against women, men, girls or boys that is directly or indirectly linked (temporally, geographically or causally) to a conflict”.
