The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) launched ‘e-Office’ in more than 500 GST and customs offices.
It will improve governance by automating the internal processing and handling files.
The launch of the new application signifies a crucial change in the internal office procedures that till now relied on manual handling of files and paper movement.
The e-Office application, developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), helps online file-related work, ranging from receiving and marking dak, operating a file, getting the draft letter ready, its clearance, and signature and dispatch of the inked letter.
